The Intermark
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Aedas is commissioned by MGPA Asia to design The Intermark, a world class, RM2.2 billion integrated development comprising two grade ‘A’ office buildings, an international business hotel and a retail podium.
This landmark development sits prominently at the pivotal point of two major commercial spines – Jalan Ampang and Jalan Tun Razak, 500 metres from Petronas Twin Towers.
In conceptualising The Intermark, Aedas has sought to synergise the various components of the development through spatial planning and a palette of premium materials of glass, stone and steel. A continuous clear rain-screen fronts The Intermark, linking the various components together to provide a unified façade, lending significant presence to the development. Within the retail podium, large voids spanning the atrium and double-volume shopfront create a theatrical experience which enhances the shopping experience.
Phase 1 of the development comprises Tower 1, one of the tallest buildings in Malaysia and a retail podium, as well as the introduction of the first Doubletree by Hilton hotel in Southeast Asia. Phase 2 comprises Tower 2, a brand new 39-storey sustainable design office tower with large column-free floor plates and a retail extension.
